In the week commencing 30 September, members will take part in strike action in the Eastern, East Midlands, West Midlands, Yorkshire and Humberside regions and in Wales (regions to be confirmed).
In the week commencing 14 October, members will take part in strike action in the North East, London, South East, South West regions and in Wales (regions to be confirmed).
A one-day, all-out national strike before the end of the autumn term.
We assume that PCS will try and co-ordinate with these strikes. If that is the intention then we must begin preparing the members now, rather than trying to do so from a standing start later in the year. Better still; PCS should put demands on unions such as the NUT to have a real alliance over pay (not only the level, but pay progression) jobs and pensions. By ‘real’ we mean that a joint programme of months of action is drawn up well in advance of the first strike action. Not PCS just calling action anytime the NUT does.
